Primary Election Tomorrow!!!

From travelling to the different places, to meeting new people, this campaign has been a really fun experience. It was really neat to see the different places in Tennessee. I had no idea how big this district really was until it was taking us at least 2 hours to go to an event.  I can also honestly say I’ve had barbeque about fifty times. I am really glad my dad decided to run for Congress and I really hope he wins. – Mary Katherine

Wow! I can’t believe t he campaigning is over! I really liked when went to the festivals! There are usually a lot of people so we can tell them to vote for my dad, Jack Bailey. And there’s a lot of fun there too! It will be will be really great if you vote for daddy! So please do! I think there’s a big chance for my dad to win!

Visiting the Campaign Office

Hi! I’m Polly! I want to talk about what I did this week. Well, Lucy, John, and I went to the office to make phone calls with my mom. There were a bunch of people at the office making phone calls.  Tomorrow John and I are going to the dentist. I LOVE GOING TO THE DENTIST! But my favorite part was playing 4-square with my family!  It was SO fun! But I kept getting out!  Till my mom came home. So we went inside and we ate dinner.  This weekend was very fun! Bye!

On Saturday, July 24, we went to a Republican Party picnic in Spring Hill. It was really hot and muggy, but it was beautiful being on the lawn of the Antebellum home.  The picnic was a lot of fun because a lot of our cousins and a few friends came.  Our friends, Paige and Abbi, and my sister Polly and I helped put up signs before the picnic and later went by the street and held them.  Then candidates spoke after we ate and everyone was really happy when my dad won the straw poll. Overall it was a really good event.

Early Voting!!

On Monday, July 19, Lucy, Sally, Mom, and I went to Cumberland County and held up Jack Bailey for Congress signs to people voting and passing by.  We stood by the courthouse and sometimes I would try to flip the sign.  There were a lot of cars and trucks driving by.  Some of the cars honked and waved.  We were trying to get people to vote for Daddy.   All the people there were very nice. It was hard work and very hot out, but it was worth it.

Door Knocking in Campbell County

This week we went to Caryville in Campbell County.  There my mom, and Lulu, and I went door knocking.  We went to a nice little neighborhood right by the mountains.  The view was amazing!  It was a lot of fun and a great way to see Tennessee’s scenery!

Learning to Drive

Today my Mom took me out to my grandfather’s farm to give me my first driving lesson. We went to the same road where my mom and her siblings learned to drive. I will be fifteen in August so we wanted to go ahead and practice where there was less (no) traffic. It was just a simple one-lane gravel road so it wasn’t too hard. I drove the big black Ford that we usually drive, and it was much easier than I expected. I cannot wait to get my learner’s permit!

Tullahoma Air Show

Yesterday I went to Tullahoma to an Air Show.  I had a snow cone.  I also got to go inside an Army helicopter.  They let me go inside and we pretended we were flying!  After that, there were four airplanes that were flying and did tricks.   Then there were fireworks and then we had to leave.  This is a picture of me in the Army helicopter.

Yard Signs!!

Yesterday Polly, Lucy, and I went to our campaign office and put yard signs together. While we were doing that we raced to see who could finish their pile of metal frames. When I was done I got a big sign and showed it to cars driving by. It was so much fun!!

Fairfield Glade Visit

Last week our family visited Fairfield Glade in Crossville.  We stayed in a friend’s condo right off of the golf course.  Every morning we knocked on doors for Daddy.  Overall, we knocked on almost 600 houses!  On Sunday, my Momma got to visit with some old friends.  Then on Wednesday she and I went to a fish fry, where we ate delicious catfish and fried dill pickles by the lake!  Every evening, we would relax from all of the campaigning and watch movies. It was a very fun vacation in all!

Visiting with the Headricks

Last week Monday-Thursday our friends, the Headricks, came from China where they are missionaries. When they came we had a break from campaigning and had fun with them! We haven’t seen them in two years, when they first moved there!  It would be kind of fun to live in China except they don’t have the same foods to eat like America. For example: They haven’t had Chick-fil-a  in 2 YEARS!!! Here’s a picture that we took with them!  I had so much food!  I had a wrap, 11 chicken nuggets, 3 bites of a chicken sandwich, and 3 bags of fries; I love Chick-fil-a!!! I had so much fun with them!  Even though it was only three days, it was three days of so much delight!
